Libelium’s Waspmote Plug & Sense! nodes and Meshlium Internet Gateway were recently displayed at the Fujitsu Innovation Centre in London.
This centre was designed to act as a key business to technology gateway, with a permanent display of innovations and technologies, showcasing solutions and projects developed in collaboration with other companies.
Three models of Plug and Sense! were chosen for this exhibition: Smart Water, Smart Environment Pro and Smart Security:
Waspmote Plug & Sense! displayed at the Fujitsu Innovation Centre
Smart Water: this platform was designed to simplify remote water quality monitoring, and allows to measure more than 6 relevant parameters related to water quality. As you can see in the picture below, it is installed in a fishtank, but its applications range from potable water monitoring to controlling pollution levels in the sea.
The node in the Innovation Centre measures:
- Dissolved O2
- Water temperature
- pH
Smart Environment Pro: with 16 gas sensors providing extremely accurate ppm values and a high-end Particle Matter sensor, the Smart Environment Pro model is designed to measure parameters such as temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure and several types of gases, and even enables Air Quality Index (AQI) calculation.
The Environment Pro model in the Innovation Centre measures:
- Temperature, humidity and pressure
- Carbon Monoxide (CO)
- Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
- Nitric Dioxide (NO2)
Waspmote Plug & Sense! and Meshlium with 802.15.4 connectivity
Smart Security: this adaptable model of Plug & Sense! enables perimeter access control, liquid presence detection and doors and windows openings. Thanks to its directionable probe, the presence sensor probe (PIR) may be pointing in different directions, focusing directly on the desired area. This type of sensors are commonly used to sense movement of people, animals or objects.
The Meshlium gateway gathers all the data from the nodes, through wireless 802.15.4 connectivity, and uploads the information to the Cloud. This way the data measured by the sensors is readily available for further analysis and visualization.
